Our Story

How it all started...

The early 70’s bred a radical time of transition in the country.  Our nation’s youth were in rebellion against hypocrisy, racism, and war.  The mood of our country’s youth brought changes in our outward
 expressions from how we loved, to our dress, and even our hairstyles. During this time, God was preparing a young man from Acres Homes who was of that generation and a former part of that culture. His life’s purpose would be to introduce many to the redeeming power of Christ Jesus our Lord.  Apostle Andrew S. Johnson, Jr. had just returned to Houston from Baltimore, MD where he was miraculously transformed. Like a firebrand plucked out of a burning furnace, he immediately began to share Jesus and his testimony. As commissioned by the holy scriptures, he went about doing good, healing the sick, and casting out devils by the power of God. His labor brought forth the fruit of souls across Houston and beyond. The company of young, converted soldiers that followed him were every bit as radical as he to win souls for Christ. They followed leadership into bars, project housing, and back wood towns to reach the lost. These young converts were limitless in their love for Jesus and were willing to pay the price of discipleship. They forsook all, changed their garments, and gave up relationships that were contrary to Christ teachings. Apostle Johnson’s ministry message of now faith has transformed the lives of many and have produced giants in the Faith. Though he has gone from labor to reward, our ministry mission to win the lost at any cost continues.

Expanding the vision...

Wherever the people are hurting, in need, broken, or without hope, you will find us.  We are the hands and feet of Jesus.

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Where we are headed...

Compelling men, women, boys, and girls to come to the saving grace knowledge of Jesus Christ is where it starts. The journey is to equip them with the faith tools to be better parents, employees, business professionals, and greater community members. Our incorporation of job preparedness, financial stewardship training, and our man-to-man, girls-to-women mentorship programs will provide building blocks for better lives.

Everyone needs a hand-up sometimes. With your support, we will extend our hand to those that need temporary shelter due to disaster as well as provide emergency disaster relief.
